Absolutely wonderful restaurant. Food was amazing, drink was amazing, atmosphere was amazing. Food was slightly expensive in my eyes but well worth it. One of my main rules is if it’s expensive and I can do it better myself at home I’m not coming back. This was place I absolutely cannot cook like this myself so yeah I’ll pay the price with a smile on my face. Having spent years in Germany with the military I have sample quite a bit of authentic German food and this is the closest to that which I have seen here in the mid Atlantic. The waitress was very polite and enthusiastic about the restaurant and taking care of her guests. The food came out pretty quickly and was fresh and delicious. Would give more than 5 stars of if I could. My only problem is it’s relatively far from our house so it’ll be a while until we can come back. Despite that we will make the attempt to come again soon.

Really loved it. True to its name - it's in the basement. Huge German and german-style beer selection, on draft and bottles. The potato pancakes were incredible. The pretzel awesome and buttery. Our schnitzel was good, sauerkraut and broccoli really nice; potato salad was a touch too sweet.

I found this place by accident while spending a night near the BWI airport. Had the Balkan Schnitzel (pork) which was great! The spätzle were so-so, maybe I should have skipped the cheese on them. Nice cozy basement (“Keller”) and I guess during the warm season the outdoor patio will be popular. It was very loud inside the basement, though - not the easiest place to have a conversation.

Definitely not the wurst place to spend some time enjoying German cuisine and beverages. My server was very kind, the food was both generously proportioned and excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Truly a pleasure to dine here. Prost! AMDG.

Came in here for a nice solo Lunch. Met the Bar manager Joe, super cool guy. Loved the vibes in here and it’s only a 5-10 minute drive to patapsco state park! I got the Chicken Schnitzel, German Potato Salad and the German Slaw. It immensely satisfied the German Food craving I have been having recently. A big bonus is their curry ketchup which I found to be wonderfully palatable with the rest of the meal! 10/10 recommend!

Had a great experience at Rathskeller. The atmosphere feels warm and authentic, with a classic German vibe that makes the place unique. The staff was friendly and attentive, answering questions clearly and helping with menu choices. We ordered items without pork, and they were very accommodating about it. The Chicken Schnitzel was crispy and flavorful, and the sides were fresh and well-seasoned. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and well-presented. Overall, great food, good service, and a welcoming environment. Definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for authentic German-style cuisine.

It was our first time at this restaurant. The food is really good. We had the party platter and everything tasted amazing. I grew up eating German food and every bite took me back to my childhood. The staff is super nice and attentive. Definitely a must go place for those who enjoy German food.

This restaurant was above and beyond. Our server was fantastic. Really funny, and attentive. I wish I remembered their name, not on the receipt either unfortunately, but we were the 5 girls sitting in the corner booth on 4/21. Anyway the food was spectacular. I got the rathskiller shot and gin lavender lemon cocktail and it was the best cocktail I’ve had in a while. Crab pretzel is a must… twice the $ as the buttered pretzel but worth every penny. We noticed there isn’t a TV inside which I really liked, it added to the charm of the restaurant and minimized distractions. This was all our first time there and I will definitely be returning and bringing friends and family.

The food, drinks, and service I encountered during my first visit to Rathskeller exceeded my already high expectations. My husband made a same-day reservation on Resy and upon arrival, our table was set and included a "happy birthday" card (since we put down on Resy that we were celebrating a birthday). The place is quite small and noisy, but the seating and tables were spaced comfortably. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. Service was quick and the food was delicious and hot. We ordered a party platter and a large Spatzle with cheese for our kids. It was the perfect amount for our party which consisted of 3 adults and 3 kids (ages 2-5). We got 2 pork, 1 chicken, and 1 Jagermeister Pork schnitzel. All of them were perfectly cooked and tasted great. The potato pancakes were delicious and the pretzle was AMAZING. Honestly though, my favorite part of the platter was the dipping sauces. I still can't decide which was my favorite. They were all so delicious. The kids thought the Spatzle was just macaroni and cheese. When I tried it, I felt like the cheese could be saltier, but the kids enjoyed it and ate pretty much the whole thing. We actually ordered desert too - the Black Forest Cupcake... but we dug in too fast for a photo. I ordered a Pilsner which was pretty good. It's a bit bitter but has a nice finish. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit here and we can't wait to go back and try something else from their menu.

Great meal, great service, great drinks, great dessert! Logan was our server and did an excellent job. Very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. Restaurant is in the basement of the building and has seating inside and outside. Parking available in an extra lot across the street. There is something on the menu even for the picky eaters. This is a more elevated German food experience - definitely go!
